Job Description
Analyze technical customer requirements and project specifications and oversee the commissioning of EPC Power inverter and power conversion systems. Serve as a technical authority during commissioning, troubleshooting, testing and maintaining medium voltage power converters. Provide on site and remote technical support for EPC power control systems in energy storage, renewable energy, microgrid, UPS, and advanced grid support applications. Plan, design, and develop technical documentation, commissioning procedures and troubleshooting guides for power conversion and control systems in support of engineering projects related to EPC energy storage and inverter products. Develop and implement engineering design upgrades, modifications, and enhancements to EPC Power control systems to improve performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. Utilize advanced expertise in power electronics, power systems, and controls to evaluate, design, and deploy solutions for complex grid connected applications. Apply advanced power controls expertise to implement and tune inverter and system-level control strategies in field deployments. Investigate multi-megawatt site-level power conversion and grid-integration performance issues, performing root cause analysis, and designing corrective engineering solutions to ensure optimal operation and improved system behavior for energy storage systems in (a) Utility scale and distributed microgrids, (b) Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) applications and (c) Grid forming and grid support inverter deployments. Support commissioning of advanced control features and grid compliance functions. Develop both general and project specific testing, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures for EPC power control systems. Perform detailed root cause analysis of system issues, including hardware, firmware, controls, and site integration factors. Investigate customer feedback and field issues, evaluate technical problems, and design corrective solutions or product improvements in collaboration with EPC engineering teams. Act as a technical liaison between EPC Power and customers during field activities. Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders. Provide structured feedback to engineering, quality, and product teams based on field experience to drive continuous improvement of EPC inverter systems. Perform simulation, performance analysis and modeling of power electronic systems and control strategies to evaluate performance, stability, and transient response under various operating conditions using specialized software tools to evaluate control loops, system dynamics, and transient response using MATLAB, PSIM, ETAP and PowerFactory. Perform detailed root cause analysis of power inverter overtemperature or power circuit issues using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, power quality analyzers, and data acquisition systems to evaluate harmonic distortion, switching behavior, transient response, and overall power electronics performance.
