Job Description


Solstice Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Process Chemical Engineer for our client located in Brandenburg, Kentucky. This role is an in-office position on a 9/80 work schedule.



Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years related experience required


5+ years experience in EPC / Petrochemicals / Chemical process design required


Base salary of $100k - $120k DOE plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits



Role Overview:



We are looking for an energetic process engineer to take responsibility of all process engineering related activities at plant location.


Process Engineer role will support the plant with following process engineering activities including:


1. Working on different types of projects ranging from helping site with troubleshooting, improvement projects, growth, Process Safety, etc.


2. Responsible for developing Front-End-Engineering packages needed to define scope of projects assigned by Engineering Manager. The activities associated with FEL work are: Equipment adequacy checks, PID development, Safety Valve contingency analysis and sizing, equipment specification, hydraulic evaluations, vendor coordination, control valve sizing, PHA closeouts, etc.


3. Lead the activities associated with complete scope definition of projects including working closely with all stakeholders and take part in incident investigation for process engineering related incidents.



Essential Functions:



  • Developing MOC packages

  • Evaluate the situation / condition and propose troubleshooting ideas

  • Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations (HSE)

  • Leading small capital projects including: plant layout, equipment purchasing, construction support, PID walk downs, commissioning, startup.



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years related experience required



  • 5+ years chemical process engineering experience with an EPC or chemical company



  • Experience with Line sizing, Pump sizing, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, control valve sizing, PSV sizing, etc

  • Competency in performing chemical engineering calculations and generating Heat & Material Balances

  • Competency in process modelling software such as Aspen+, Hysys, Provision, ChemCAD

  • Knowledge of distillation columns, reboilers, condensers, process control, loading & offloading facilities, tank design, etc

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent technical and computer skills including MS Office (Excel), Visio, Bluebeam etc
