Kansas City is partnering with a growing organization to identify an ambitious and customer-focused Inside Sales Trainee. About the Role

The Sales Trainee will work closely with experienced sales professionals to develop the skills necessary to become a successful Sales Specialist. Through comprehensive training and day-to-day involvement in customer interactions, account management, quoting, order processing, and sales support activities, this individual will gain a strong foundation in relationship-building, customer service, and sales best practices. Upon successful completion of the training program, the trainee will have the opportunity to transition into a full Sales Specialist role with increased responsibility and earning potential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, building relationships, and developing a career in a sales-driven environment. Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured onboarding program to learn sales systems, processes, and best practices
  • Shadow and support senior sales reps - manage customer inquiries, accounts, and solutions
  • Process customer quotes and orders with accuracy and timely follow up
  • Handle order entry, pricing reviews, product availability checks, and certification coordination
  • Resolve customer complaints and discrepancies in collaboration with the team
  • Attend training sessions to deepen product and industry knowledge
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all sales activity
  • Support outreach, order follow-up, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or an office environment
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Genuine interest in building a career in sales
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new CRM
  • Detail-oriented with solid time management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
  • Customer-first mindset with a professional, dependable work ethic
