Job Description

Nucor is North America's largest recycler and most diversified steel and steel products company. Purpose: Perform administrative support at a basic operational level regarding two or more of the essential support functions necessary for the operation of the branch, including production scheduling/shipping, inventory support, inside sales support, and basic accounting/bookkeeping support. Job Responsibilities: Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Maintain and update master and dispatch schedules for all fabrication orders Coordinate production schedules with supervisors and detailers to maximize efficiency and minimize costs Adjust schedules to accommodate customer needs, urgent requests, or shop constraints Communicate scheduled delivery dates and updates to customers Arrange trucking with approved freight companies and manage delivery schedules Coordinate daily shipping activities to ensure on-time deliveries Process freight documentation, including Bills of Lading, production tags, and shipping paperwork Review and process freight invoices Serve as a liaison between customers, shop teams, placers, and detailers to resolve scheduling or shipping issues Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams Prepare, maintain, and record required documentation and paperwork Assist with basic accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks Support sales and estimating teams with bid preparation, project quotations, and follow-up reporting Report weekly payroll hours Communicate and distribute HR-related information to teammates Assist with recordkeeping for safety, workers' compensation, and related compliance areas Support safety activities, including first reports, accident investigations, and required documentation Assist with general office administration, including answering phones Adhere to all Nucor Rebar Fabrication safety programs and standards Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor Minimum Requirements: • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferences: • Two-year degree from an accredited school or college • Prior experience in the construction industry • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and math skills • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills • Able to coordinate multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure • Accuracy and attention to detail Physical Demands: • Physical demands of Walking, sitting, standing, bending. • Some lifting/handling computers and related equipment. • You'll use hands to operate objects, tools, computers, and other electronic equipment. • Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus. • Background & Drug Test are required at hire.
