ROLE IMPACT
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting critical accounting operations during a high-impact period. This position ensures accuracy across lease accounting, inventory, and revenue streams while maintaining strong financial controls. Success in this role means delivering clean month-end closes, accurate reconciliations, and reliable financial reporting that leadership can trust.
Responsibilities
Manage ASC 842 lease accounting, including accurate tracking and reporting of lease activity
Post and review rent activity to ensure proper recognition and compliance
Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate cost tracking and valuation
Perform store sales accounting and revenue reconciliations
Handle property tax accounting and related entries
Manage gift card program accounting and liability tracking
Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
Lead and support month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met
Conduct detailed P&L reviews to identify variances and trends
Prepare and post accruals and adjusting journal entries
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Ensure strict adherence to debits and credits and overall GAAP compliance
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong hands-on experience with general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations
Solid understanding of debits, credits, and GAAP principles
Preferred Skills
Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
Background in retail, multi-location, or inventory-driven environments
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
