Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Exercise Physiologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, designing, and implementing exercise and fitness programs tailored to individuals with various health conditions or fitness goals. The Exercise Physiologist will work closely with clients to enhance their physical health, rehabilitation, and overall quality of life through safe and effective exercise interventions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess clients' physical health, including fitness levels, medical history, and individual needs.
  • Develop personalized exercise programs based on assessments, ensuring safety and effectiveness for clients with different fitness levels or medical conditions (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders).
  • Monitor and track client progress, adjusting programs as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Educate clients on exercise techniques, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, physicians, and nutritionists, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Conduct functional capacity evaluations to assess clients' readiness for physical activities.
  • Provide guidance on nutrition, stress management, and overall wellness as part of a comprehensive fitness plan.
  • Offer one-on-one or group exercise sessions, ensuring proper techniques and modifications for safety.
  • Maintain detailed records of client progress, goals, and any changes to their treatment plans.
  • Stay current with the latest trends, research, and technologies in exercise physiology and fitness to provide up-to-date, evidence-based practices.
  • Assist in rehabilitative programs for patients recovering from surgery or injury, ensuring adherence to recovery protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Certification from a recognized body (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, or AFAA preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, exercise techniques, and the physiology of exercise.
  • Ability to design and implement fitness programs for individuals with varying health conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and motivate clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to perform fitness assessments and interpret results.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, especially related to exercise and rehabilitation.
  • Experience with exercise equipment and rehabilitation devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in CPR/First Aid.
  • Previous experience in working with patients with chronic conditions or in rehabilitation settings.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology for tracking and monitoring client progress.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate exercises and assist clients physically when needed.
  • Ability to work long hours, including standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to lift or assist clients when required during exercise sessions.
