Defense Litigation Paralegal

Auto insurance Defense experience Must.

In need of an experienced defense litigation paralegal. This is not an entry level position. We are a busy law firm and we need someone who has sufficient experience to know how to actively engage in the litigation process. This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of a winning team.

Experience: Minimum four years Defense Litigation

Responsibilities:

Assist with drafting, processing and organizing written discovery

Draft and prepare pleadings for electronic filing with appropriate courts

Assist attorneys with preparation for trials, hearings and depositions

Manage attorneys' calendars and monitor case deadlines

Assist with the organization of electronic files

Communicate with Court Clerks on the State and Federal levels

Schedule and coordinate depositions, including court reporters and videographers

Schedule and coordinate mediations

Prepare, proofread and edit legal documents and correspondence

General administrative tasks and other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements:

A minimum of 4 years of experience - Real Estate litigation experience is a plus

Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts

Must be proficient with Outlook, Word Processing Software (Word), Time Keeping Software, and PDF

Software

Comfortable working independently, but also as part of a litigation team

Must be detail-oriented

Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

simultaneously

Must possess a solid understanding of both office and legal processes and procedures

Must have excellent grammar, writing and editing skills, as well as strong work ethic

Able to work overtime occasionally, especially during trials
