Job Title: CNC Operator

Job Description

The CNC Operator sets up and operates CNC panel saws and related equipment to cut materials accurately and efficiently, ensuring high-quality parts that meet production specifications. This role supports daily production by reading work orders and cut lists, performing measurements and basic equipment checks, and collaborating with team members to maintain a safe, organized, and productive shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC panel saws to cut materials accurately according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret work orders and cut lists to ensure parts are cut correctly.
  • Measure materials before and after cutting to verify dimensions and quality.
  • Stage, move, and organize materials as needed to support production flow.
  • Perform basic equipment checks, routine upkeep, and minor adjustments to maintain safe and efficient operation.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Work closely with teammates to keep production running smoothly and meet deadlines.
  • Assist with other shop or warehouse tasks as needed to support overall operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience operating CNC saws or similar machinery in a production or shop environment.
  • Ability to operate CNC panel saws and related cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Comfort using hand tools and measuring tools, including tape measures and similar devices.
  • Ability to read and understand basic drawings, layouts, and cut lists.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and verifying dimensions.
  • Positive attitude with a team-first mindset and willingness to support coworkers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC routers, panel saws, or similar plastic manufacturing machinery.
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing or operating plastics machines.
  • Familiarity with lathe operation or other machine tools.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position with standard hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You work in a shop and warehouse environment around CNC panel saws, CNC routers, and other plastics manufacturing equipment. The role involves standing for extended periods, handling materials, and working near active machinery, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Urbandale, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
