Our client, a leading organization in the industry, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be part of the payroll operations supporting compliance, tax filings, and account management across multiple jurisdictions

Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Location: Evanston, IL (Hybrid or Fully Remote)

Pay Range:$40-$45/HR

What's the Job?

  • Manage and complete outstanding state registration requests to ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with Third-Party Administrators to confirm system access, gather documentation, and validate account setup.
  • Investigate and resolve unemployment insurance (UI) account discrepancies, including clearing rejections and retroactive corrections.
  • Review, validate, and maintain payroll tax account numbers across multiple states, ensuring all accounts remain active and compliant.
  • Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure timely submission to Accounts Payable and external systems such as Workday.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7+ years of experience in payroll administration, payroll tax, or related functions.
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll tax compliance and unemployment insurance processes.
  • Experience working with payroll systems and Workday is a MUST.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex payroll discrepancies.
