Wellness Designer (2 positions)

With preliminary direction from a licensed architect and project manager, assist in all phases of multistory permanent supportive housing projects, including renovation; analyze client needs and develop design concepts using tools including BIM (Revit ACC Pro), InDesign, Photoshop, Lumion, EnScape, Bluebeam Studio, and freehand sketching; create programmed space spreadsheets, narrative summaries, room data sheets, adjacency diagrams, and graphic content, and prepare the final Developed Project Program document; set up project software parameters and manage modeling/drawing standards; assist in establishing task schedules and staffing requirements in line with the project agreement, identifying weekly project needs, and projecting long-term requirements; attend and present at client and consultant meetings, to coordinate with stakeholders; prepare comprehensive construction documents, working drawings, architectural plans, elevations, and 2D/3D models for various project types, create client and public presentations, workshops, and meetings using a range of tools including rendering software (Lumion, Enscape), building information modeling programs, and design software to produce compelling 3D models, images, and presentations; participate in research and selection of building materials and gathering FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment) components required for construction and work with consultants, vendors, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives and coordinate with specification documents; work closely with design teams to ensure projects meet green building certification requirements including LEED, ILFI, LBC, WELL Building Standard, Net Zero Energy, Green Point Rated by integrating sustainable design principles into energy models; engage in community outreach initiatives to gather insights and feedback, aiming to enhance building design to better meet the needs and expectations of future users and community members; conduct post-occupancy evaluation and review of clients use of space; evaluate project compliance with wellness-oriented certification checklists such as WELL and Kelsey standards; incorporate trauma-informed design principles into project workflows; provide consultation to other project teams regarding housing for vulnerable/disabled populations, including IDD and formerly homeless, in particular for interior design decisions; support business development and marketing endeavors in the subject area of spatial determinants of health, including through development of lessons-learned presentations, and by writing proposals/abstracts for conferences.
