Basic Job Functions: Drivers safely transport steel joists, deck, coils, and other steel products to designated delivery points. Maintaining accurate logs and records to comply with local, state, federal, and DOT requirements; following company policies; inspecting and legally securing loads; verifying accuracy against paperwork; and working effectively in a team environment. Drivers must be available for variable day and night schedules, often with little notice, and are home most evenings. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) years of verifiable commercial interstate driving experience Current CDL Class A Great driving and work record, no more than two (2) preventable accidents in the past two (2) years No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years (or 2 serious violations in the past 3 years) No violations for operating a CMV after being placed Out of Service (OOS) No prior drug or DUI convictions in a commercial vehicle in lifetime; no prior drug or DUI convictions in a private vehicle in the previous 10 years No prior positive or refusal DOT drug and/or alcohol tests Must pass all DOT and company written, driving, and drug screen tests Must meet all DOT physical and skills requirements CDL cannot be restricted to automatic transmission only Preferred Qualifications: Flatbed and oversize load experience Joist, deck, or steel coil hauling experience Flatbed, oversize, and permit load experience WHY DRIVE FOR VULCRAFT • 2026/2027 Peterbilt & 2020 Kenworth trucks • Newer trailer fleet • In-house truck shop • On-site fueling station • On-site automatic truck wash • 11" iPad in-cab tablets • Over-the-road credit card • PrePass Plus in all trucks • World-class CSA performance • Quarterly performance bonus
