Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens Urgent Care opportunity in Pennsylvania. This full-time assignment offers a consistent 8:00 AM 8:00 PM schedule with no call responsibilities. Providers will rotate between four nearby clinic locations within a 30-mile radius and must be comfortable practicing independently.

Overview

• Monday Sunday, 8:00 AM 8:00 PM
• No call required
• Epic EMR
• Solo provider coverage with remote physician support available when needed
• 3 4 patients per hour
• Medical assistants and radiology technicians on site

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat urgent care patients of all ages (including pediatrics 6 months+)
• Manage common urgent care conditions including:
  • Cold and flu symptoms
  • Rashes
  • Lacerations and abrasions
  • Sprains and strains
  • Minor burns
• Perform procedures including:
  • Suturing and wound care
  • Incision & drainage (I&D)
  • Splinting
  • X-ray and EKG interpretation
  • Blood draws and IV placement
• Refer high-acuity patients to the emergency department as appropriate

Requirements

• NP or PA
• Board Certified
• Pennsylvania license required
• DEA and Pennsylvania CSR required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum experience:
  • At least 2 years of Urgent Care experience, or
  • 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience
