Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to a rewarding contract role supporting students in a dynamic, educational environment near Monterey, CA. This full-time, itinerant position involves working in person across multiple school sites, ensuring a diverse and impactful experience each day.

You will play a crucial role in empowering students who are visually impaired, providing specialized instruction and resources that foster independence and academic success.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification/license as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working in K-12 settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of accessibility strategies, Braille, and adaptive technology
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel between school sites as part of an itinerant schedule
  • Passion for advocating for and supporting students with visual impairments

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting materials for accessibility
  • Conduct assessments and collaborate in the development of IEPs and 504 plans
  • Consult and coordinate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
  • Support classroom accommodations, orientation, mobility, and use of assistive technology
  • Lead and participate in professional development activities related to visual impairment education
  • Maintain documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and district requirements
