- Job Details
- Pediatric ICU Nurse position at Dell Children's PICU, a high acuity and fast paced ICU with 24 beds located centrally in Austin, Texas.
- Level 1 Trauma Center with specialties including neurology, renal, pulmonary, surgical, and medical ICU.
- Floating to all areas when needed including CVICU and NICU North Campus 12 bed PICU.
- Navy scrubs and pediatric print tops are allowed.
- Job Requirements
- Must have current BLS certification (AHA).
- Must have current PALS certification (AHA).
- Must have current ACLS certification (AHA).
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Current nursing license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start of assignment.
- Completion of Ascension Specialty Exam prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years with minimum 80% passing score.
- Completion of Ascension Core Competencies within a year of start and updated every 3 years with minimum 80% passing score.
- Completion of Ascension EKG Exam with at least 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
- Completion of Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation.
- Completion of Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding onsite.
- Completion of Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules prior to clearance.
- Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Fit Test required for all travelers, preferred prior to start, updated annually.
- Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Driver's License/State ID must be current and valid.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing with required documentation and annual TB questionnaire.
- Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines or serological evidence of immunity; no declinations accepted.
- Valid Tdap vaccination within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Ascension Profile (resume) required.
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
- Completion of Ascension Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, and National Sex Offender check within 90 days of first assignment.
- Completion of Ascension EPLS within 90 days of start.
- Completion of Ascension Skills Checklist within one year of start and updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
- Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment upon initial assignment and updates upon extension.
- Third-party employment verification for past seven years, updated annually.
- Schedule Information
- Shift hours from 19:00 to 07:30 (12.5 hour night shift).
- Unit Specific Information
- Floating to all areas when needed including CVICU and NICU North Campus 12 bed PICU.
- Navy scrubs and pediatric print tops allowed.
- Additional Details
- Ascension Resume required for submission.
- Signed Assignment Agreement required for onboarding.
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist optional for onboarding, to be uploaded by unit leader within a week.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out optional.
- Ascension Badge Photo optional.
- Influenza Vaccine is optional; flu season October 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026; exemptions accepted but mask required.
- Hiring Manager Evaluation post-assignment optional.
- Ascension Name Change Document optional.
