    Job Details
  • Plan, evaluate, organize and implement Occupational Therapy (OT) treatment programs in a developmentally and age appropriate manner for patients ages 0 - adulthood.
  • Complete patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines.
  • Develop individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital and departmental guidelines.
  • Collaborate with patient and family to develop measurable long term and short term goals.
  • Perform patient care and related activities within the scope of training and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical competencies in an area of specialty.
  • Manage schedule effectively to maintain productivity expectations per departmental guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing communication and collaboration with other members of the patient's interdisciplinary care team.
  • Coordinate treatment plan with all parties involved in the patient's care.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment intervention.
  • Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment.
  • Recommend termination of treatment when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with Patient, Family, Therapy Manager, department staff, physicians and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care.
  • Tasks characterized by ability to analyze clinical situation and evaluate priorities, relying on conscious application of clinical rules and principles.
  • All tasks are focused and methodical.
    Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • 2 years Pediatric, women's health, orthopedics, or sports medicine clinical experience required or 1 year Pediatric, women's health, orthopedics, or sports medicine residency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of rehabilitative care of patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Knowledge of development from neonate to adulthood.
  • Successful demonstration of professional competencies and at least two (2) years pediatric or sports medicine experience.
  • Clinical advancement candidate must have been rated as "exceptional" or "consistently exceptional" on previous performance appraisal.
  • Must be articulate, courteous and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality.
  • Ability to independently treat patients by developing and following established therapy plan of care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Utilize basic office equipment such as fax, copier and PC.
  • Specific experience with children birth to 21 with neuromotor diagnoses including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Brachial Plexus, Down Syndrome, Genetic diagnoses and developmental delay.
  • Feeding and infant experience desired but not required.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: Either Monday-Thursday 10 hour days 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM or 5-8 hours shift 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Friday.
  • Hours per day: 8
  • Hours per week: 40
    Unit Specific Information
  • Pediatric specialty with focus on children birth to 21 with neuromotor diagnoses including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Brachial Plexus, Down Syndrome, Genetic diagnoses and developmental delay.
