Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a travel Mammography Technologist Level I for a travel job in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Mammographer I

Location:

  • Work is typically performed in outpatient environments across OU Health locations.

Job Summary:

The Mammographer I performs specialized breast imaging services on OU Health patients to aid providers in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of breast conditions, defects, and/or diseases. This position is intended for those gaining experience as a Mammographer or experienced imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in Mammography.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic imaging on patients as ordered by a care provider under general supervision.
  • Ensure testing is performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining a patient-centric focus.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and review clinical history to align with provider-ordered tests.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients and family members, providing clear information regarding diagnostic testing and result timelines.
  • Collaborate with team members across OU Health, including providers, to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Utilize specialized mammography equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic procedures per established guidelines.
  • Conduct post-testing quality reviews to ensure all required elements are completed and documented per departmental and accreditation standards.
  • Transfer images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure technical quality of testing meets established protocols and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as requested.
  • Support academic partnerships by engaging in teaching radiologic program students.
  • Serve as a departmental preceptor to mentor new or less experienced team members.
  • Assist with onboarding new team members.
  • Support inventory tasks to ensure supplies are available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Skill in applying principles of mammography and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
  • Foundational knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, basic mammography principles, and/or radiologic technology.
  • Ability to apply core mammography theory, practice, and techniques to perform examinations, post-processing analysis, and documentation with general supervision.
  • Clear and respectful verbal and written communication skills to exchange information with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete clinical and non-clinical tasks with guidance, progressively developing independence in managing routine responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain composed in stressful situations with guidance, progressively developing effective coping and prioritization skills.

Required Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited imaging/radiology program as defined by ARRT.
  • Completion of a JRCERT-accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.

Required Certification & Licensure:

  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • ARRT(RT)(M) required within 1 year of hire.
  • Must be a registered Mammographer.
