Position Summary

Staffmark is hiring Transportation Clerks for a leading logistics operation in Lancaster, TX. This role is ideal for candidates with customer service, transportation, logistics, dispatch, or warehouse office experience. The Transportation Clerk will serve as a key point of contact for drivers, vendors, visitors, and customers while supporting daily transportation operations.

Professionalism is essential, as this position interacts directly with drivers, contractors, customers, and site visitors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Check in and assist drivers arriving at the facility
• Verify driver and shipment information for accuracy
• Dispatch drivers and release loads through the Transportation Management System
• Direct drivers to appropriate delivery and receiving locations
• Monitor transportation activities and communicate updates as needed
• Troubleshoot system and operational issues to ensure smooth workflow
• Communicate with internal teams, vendors, and customers regarding transportation activities
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous customer service, transportation, logistics, dispatch, or clerical experience preferred
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn transportation management systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and professional presentation

Preferred Experience

• Transportation, logistics, dispatch, shipping, receiving, or warehouse office experience
• Experience working with drivers, carriers, vendors, or transportation systems
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus
