Job Description

Northwell Health is seeking full-time academic Transplant Hepatologists to join the Northwell Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation and the Division of Hepatology. These roles involve providing comprehensive medical care for patients with liver diseases, including those requiring liver transplantation, across various locations in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, and Westchester. The positions are open to candidates at the assistant, associate, and professor of medicine levels, offering an opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare network and academic institution.

Practice Info

  • Part of the Northwell Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation and the Division of Hepatology
  • Positions available in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, and Westchester
  • The Northwell Transplant Institute offers world class organ transplant care for adults and children
  • Transplant procedures are performed at North Shore University Hospital and Cohen Children's Medical Center
  • The Transplant Institute has an expansive network of 40+ office locations

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the medical care of patients with liver diseases, including those in need of liver transplantation
  • Diagnose and treat liver conditions
  • Assess eligibility for liver transplantation
  • Oversee both pre- and post-transplant care
  • Educate medical students, residents, and GI and Transplant Hepatology fellows

  • Academic appointment at the medical school
  • Appointment at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor will be provided, commensurate with experience, training, academic portfolio, and teaching activities

Requirements

  • BE/BC in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology
  • Proven expertise in General and Transplant Hepatology as well as endoscopy
  • Excellence in clinical and diagnostic skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective teamwork and patient care
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State
  • Experience in academic research and/or teaching is highly valued
