Tax Staff Accountant

Duggar & Traylor, LLC is a tax based accounting practice in Jacksonville, FL. We are seeking a tax staff accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various accounting functions, with a focus on tax accounting and regulatory reporting.

We work with many small businesses and individuals to provide tax and accounting services. We are looking for a dependable professional with excellent communication skills and experience working with QuickBooks accounting software.

Responsibilities:

- Duties including data entry, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, journal entries, analyzing and recording payroll entries, and financial statement preparation

- Manage numerous monthly and quarterly accounting tasks working with various clients

- Payroll and sales tax return preparation

- Compile and file Form 1099s

- Communication with clients and staff on various issues

- Assist with tax preparation input

Skills/Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, or comparable work experience

- 1-2 years of full charge accounting experience in public accounting (must be able to receive raw data and be able to prepare year-end reports that are tax return ready)

- Knowledge of debits and credits, general ledger accounting tasks

- Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software (online and desktop) and ability to troubleshoot with clients

- Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook

- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

- High attention to detail

- Tax return preparation and CPA firm experience a plus

- Experience with ProSeries tax preparation software a plus

Schedule

- Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, ability to work overtime during our peak season February through April

- In-office position
