Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician Assistant

Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (Can present you according to the provider's availability)
On-Call: No required call (Optional paid call available)

Position Overview:
The facility is seeking a dedicated Neurosurgery PA to join a full-time neurosurgery team. The role focuses primarily on spine surgery (approximately 80%) with cranial cases comprising about 20% of the practice. This position offers a balanced surgical and inpatient consult experience in a collaborative hospital-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• First assist in neurosurgical procedures, primarily spine and cranial cases
• Perform minor procedures including wound suturing and wound aspirations
• Provide perioperative patient management
• Conduct inpatient consults, including ICU consults as needed
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care
• Collaborate closely with the neurosurgery attending physician (full-time onsite coverage)

Clinical Volume:

• 5 7 surgeries per week on average
• Patient census varies based on elective surgery schedule
• Evening and weekend coverage managed by on-call APP with formal sign-out process

Requirements:

• Active New York license
• Experience as a surgical first assist required.
