Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Hours: 40+ hours per week
Location: Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Area, Iowa

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Ironworkers to join a construction crew working throughout the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with structural steel or pre-engineered metal building erection and be comfortable using hand and power tools and construction equipment.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for reliable workers looking for the potential for long-term employment.

Responsibilities

• Erect and assemble pre-engineered metal buildings and structural steel.
• Assist with layout, positioning, and installation of steel components.
• Read and work from construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assist with bolting, fastening, fitting, and securing structural steel components.
• Work as part of a field erection crew.
• Follow directions from the foreman and project leadership.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Follow all company and job-site safety requirements.
• Perform other duties associated with steel erection and construction as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with pre-engineered metal buildings or structural steel preferred.
• Previous ironworking, steel erection, or construction experience.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to work safely at heights.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
• Ability to follow instructions and work from construction plans and drawings.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Welding experience or certification is a plus.
• OSHA certification is a plus, but not required.

PPE & Tools Required

Candidates must provide basic PPE, including:

• Hard hat
• Safety glasses
• Work gloves
• Work boots
• Other standard construction PPE as required by the job site
