Tenet Healthcare and DMC Medical Group are seeking a fellowship-trained spinal neurosurgeon to join a well-established, multi-site neurosciences program at DMC Harper - Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, MI. This full-time employed position offers the opportunity to build a high-impact spine practice within a fully integrated system, supported by a newly accredited Neuro Critical Care Fellowship program. The role is ideal for a physician ready to lead in a collaborative, academically oriented environment that welcomes research and prioritizes excellence.

Practice Info

  • Practice within a fully integrated system offering hospital privileges across all five DMC facilities, including Level I and II Trauma Centers.
  • Primary practice site is DMC Neurosurgery Clinic, downtown Detroit at Harper Hospital.
  • Hospital privileges at all 5 DMC facilities, including Level I and II Trauma Centers and tertiary care referral centers.
  • PACS on-site, hospital-attached for seamless access.
  • Robust ancillary staff, in-house billing, coding, collections, and marketing support.
  • Participation in research is welcomed within an academically oriented neurosciences program.

Responsibilities

  • Practice Spinal Neurosurgery with a mix of General Neurosurgery and spine-based procedures.
  • Participate in shared call among 5 physicians, with 8 NPs supporting inpatient rounds 24/7.

Shift & Schedule

  • Full Time.
  • 3-4 clinic days per week plus 1-2 OR/procedure/call days.
  • Shared call among 5 physicians, with 8 NPs supporting inpatient rounds 24/7.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery.
  • Completion of an accredited spine-based fellowship required.
  • Active Michigan medical license, or willingness to obtain.
  • 3-5 years of post-training clinical experience.
