Special Education Teacher - Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Demonstrated experience or training in specially designed instruction
• Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience is preferred
• Comfort with supporting students needing toileting and various physical supports
• Experience working with students with severe disabilities, both cognitive and physical
• Ability to adapt communication; familiarity with non-verbal strategies/tools is a plus
• Collaborative spirit and a passion for inclusive education
• Flexibility and resilience in dynamic educational settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored for students with diverse needs
• Provide direct instruction, behavioral support, and adaptive strategies in both academic and functional skills
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, including RBTs and other support staff
• Maintain a nurturing, safe classroom environment that accommodates physical and cognitive needs
• Record ongoing student progress in accordance with IEP goals and compliance standards
• Support personal care and toileting needs compassionately and respectfully
