Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a School Social Worker in an elementary setting. This full-time contract position offers the rewarding opportunity to support students during a colleague's leave from September 8th through December. Situated near Detroit, MI, you'll play a vital role guiding and advocating for children during a critical period in their educational journey.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Current licensure or certification to practice as a School Social Worker in Michigan
• Prior experience in an elementary school setting is preferred
• Strong knowledge of child development, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Demonstrated ability to develop trust and rapport with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
• Assess student concerns and develop action plans in coordination with teachers and administrators
• Collaborate with families, educators, and outside agencies to connect children and families to available resources
• Intervene in crisis situations and help facilitate restorative practices
• Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504s as needed
• Advocate for a positive, inclusive school climate by promoting social-emotional learning and equity
