Overview:

$20.00 per Hour

Six Flags is currently hiring Small Engine Mechanic in our landscaping department! With over 500 acres to maintain and keep presentable for our guests, landscaping is no easy feat! You will be part of an dedicated, hardworking team that ensures that the Theme Park, and Hurricane Harbor remain beautiful through every season. Role is responsible for the proper maintenance and upkeep of landscape tools and equipment.


Responsibilities:

Ensure the safe operation of the theme parks landscape tools and equipment.

Must be able to inspect and repair:

  • Lawnmowers
  • Chainsaws
  • Blowers
  • Snow Throwers and Rototillers
  • Weed Eaters
  • Power Pruners and Shears
  • Water Pumps
  • Keep all records and documentation updated daily, accessible, and organized.
  • Ensure that manufacturer's specifications, procedures, and State Regulations are complied with and documented.
  • Operate within the policies and procedures of Six Flags.
  • Keep a parts inventory, record all used party and notify supervisors of any parts and materials necessary to ensure safe and continuous operation.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure shop and equipment are clean and visually in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, guest and Six Flags expectations.
  • Direct, advise and/or work in conjunction with other trades, in a Team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and ladders repeatedly, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, kneel, push, pull and work overhead using both hands, lift 50 pounds without injury and work in all weather conditions.
  • Be able to read, write, add, subtract, work with fractional and decimal systems and implement maintenance, safety and inspection procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:

  • Must be 18 Years of age or older
  • Must have 3-4 years of experience in repairing small engines and upkeeping equipment.
  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English Language.
  • Flexible Schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a time, and as many as 14 hours a day.
  • Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day over various surfaces.
