Shop Drawing Drafter - Steel Detailer

We are seeking an experienced Shop Drawing Drafter to produce detailed, fabrication-ready drawings for our projects. This role is responsible for translating design concepts and field measurements into accurate shop drawings that support production and installation. The ideal candidate has strong CAD skills and a solid understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and construction practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed shop drawings for fabrication and installation
• Interpret architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and field measurements
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility
• Revise drawings based on internal review, client feedback, and field conditions
• Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, codes, and company standards
• Prepare cut lists, material takeoffs, and assembly details
• Maintain organized drawing files and revision histories

Qualifications:

• Experience working directly with a fabrication shop or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, Photoshop and Lumion software
• Strong understanding of fabrication methods, materials, and tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of industry standards and installation practices
