Senior Superintendent

Job Summary

The Senior Superintendent is a senior field leader responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction operations on complex, large-scale projects valued at $300M+ in New York City. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Senior Superintendent provides strong leadership to field teams, coordinates subcontractors and trade partners, enforces compliance with NYC building codes, DOB regulations, and safety standards, and leverages. Procore to manage project documentation and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to schedule, safety, quality, and budget goals.
• Supervise and mentor field staff, including Assistant Superintendents, Engineers, and Foremen.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to maintain smooth site operations.
• Oversee daily logistics, manpower planning, and site utilization strategies.
• Enforce compliance with NYC DOB, OSHA, Local Law 196, and all site safety regulations.
• Monitor project milestones and proactively resolve issues that could impact schedule or cost.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, and the General Superintendent on planning, progress reporting, and client updates.
• Utilize Procore and other construction management platforms to track RFIs, submittals, daily logs, safety audits, and inspections.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and quality checks to uphold company and regulatory standards.
• Represent the company professionally with owners, agencies, and trade partners.

Qualifications

DOB Superintendents License required

• 10+ years of superintendent experience, with proven success on projects valued at $300M+.
• Strong leadership and field management experience on large-scale projects in New York City.
• Deep knowledge of NYC DOB regulations, union labor practices, safety codes, and public-sector requirements.
• Proficiency with Procore; experience with Primavera P6 and other project management tools a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and stakeholders under tight schedules.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required; Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor Card preferred.
• Ability to professionally hold boundaries and manage complicated and challenging projects.
