Location: Midwest-Based Remote with 30-50% Travel

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety & Compliance Manager to support a multi-site network of food-grade warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing operations throughout the Midwest. This position is remote-based but requires significant time in the field. The successful candidate will regularly travel to facilities, partner with site leadership, and lead safety, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong OSHA knowledge with hands-on experience supporting food safety programs, managing audits, and driving a culture of accountability across multiple locations.

Compensation

$90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated expertise in safety and compliance management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain OSHA compliance programs across multiple facilities.
• Conduct safety audits, facility inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Travel regularly to operational sites and maintain a visible presence with leadership and frontline teams.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
• Support and maintain readiness for SQF, AIB, customer, regulatory, and insurance audits.
• Develop and deliver safety and compliance training programs across multiple locations.
• Standardize safety and compliance practices to ensure consistency across facilities.
• Track and analyze safety KPIs, audit findings, corrective actions, injury trends, and compliance metrics.
• Partner with operations leadership to improve safety culture, engagement, and accountability.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions that reduce risk and strengthen compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of safety, compliance, EHS, quality, or operational leadership experience in food-grade warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
• Experience supporting or leading SQF certification programs.
• Experience preparing for and responding to AIB audits.
• Experience managing safety and compliance across multiple facilities.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Strong communication, training, coaching, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build relationships and influence operational leaders at all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while supporting multiple locations.
