Job Description

- Assist in developing purification methods and optimizing existing methods (25mg-10g scale), including manual and automated processes. - Perform laboratory techniques and tasks to characterize and quantify synthetic organic compounds, including LCMS, HPLC, NMR, UV-VIS, and DSC - Set up standard and plate-based parallel syntheses via manual and automated instrumentation while using LC-MS for reaction analysis and QC of final products - Execute solution-phase and solid-phase synthetic protocols utilizing basic synthetic chemistry techniques - Lead efforts to characterize, document, and organize chemical libraries - Analyze and accurately document results in an electronic lab notebook and present these results to an interdisciplinary audience - Draft synthetic proposals based on evaluation of current chemistry literature as well as internal synthetic efforts - Prepare technical documents for intellectual property filings and standard operating procedures - Collaborate with conjugation scientists to optimize chemistries relate to active targeting of lipid nanoparticles - Perform characterization of lipid nanoparticles via a wide range of methods including DLS and NTA, as well as techniques to quantify their contents REQUIREMENTS: Education: U.S. Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field Experience: Two years of professional experience as a Research Associate or similar laboratory-based role in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Experience must include two years with each of the following: - Analysis and purification of novel molecules - Gene transfection and/or lipid nanoparticle-based gene delivery - Analytical chemistry techniques including: LCMS; HPLC; NMR; UV-VIS; DSC - Nuclear magnetic resonance techniques including H-NMR and 13C-NMR - Software including: ChemDraw; ChemOffice; MestreNova; Waters Empower - Auto chromatography systems and software such as Biotage and Teledyne - Plate reader for absorbance and fluorescence LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 140 First Street, Ste. 202, Cambridge, MA 02141 SALARY: $91,000 to $107,300 HOW TO APPLY: Send resume to . com with subject 1026-MIRAI
