Description:
We are looking for a versatile and highly skilled Microsoft Power Platform Developer in the Division of Public Health, providing primary support for the Health Hazard Control Unit (HHCU) within the Environmental Health section. The primary purpose of the position is to lead the design, development, and governance of low-code and automation solutions, and to design, build, and support enterprise-grade applications and databases. This hybrid role supports business automation initiatives while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of SQL environments across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Dataverse
Integrate Power Platform solutions with SQL Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and external systems
Develop and maintain SQL Server databases, including schema design, performance tuning, and optimization
Create and maintain stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and ETL processes
Design enterprise-ready data models and build secure connections between Power Platform solutions and SQL databases
Implement governance, ALM, and environment strategies for Power Platform solutions
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across applications and databases
Troubleshoot Power Platform errors, workflow failures, and database performance issues
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Maintain documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
Support modernization, automation, and cloud adoption initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) or higher certification
Experience with Power BI, dataflows, and enterprise reporting
Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and SQL Server - 7 years required
Expertise in T-SQL development, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization - 7 years required
Experience managing SQL Server instances on-premises and/or Azure SQL - 7 years required
Understanding of data governance, security roles, and DLP policies - 7 years required
Experience integrating databases with APIs, cloud apps, and third-party systems - 7 years required
Ability to interpret business needs and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions - 7 years required
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - 7 years required
Experience in MS Power Platform development and implementation - 7 years required
Proficiency in Power Apps, Power Virtual Agent, and Dataverse - 7 years required
Knowledge of SQL database structure - 7 years required
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - 7 years required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - 7 years required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team - 7 years required
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively - 7 years required
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field - required
Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) or higher - preferred
