Senior Java Backend Engineer

Pay Range: $55.00hr - $60.00hr Job Overview: Our organization is seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join the dynamic engineering team. In this role, the candidate will design, develop, and deploy scalable web, enterprise, and AI-powered applications that drive business impact. The candidate will work on cloud-native architectures, lead end-to-end system design, and mentor junior engineers while leveraging cutting-edge technologies including Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and Generative AI. Key Responsibilities: Design and architect scalable backend systems that support enterprise and web applications. Develop robust and maintainable Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices patterns. Implement and integrate Generative AI solutions, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), LLMs, and Knowledge Graphs. Build and maintain cloud-native architectures on modern cloud platforms. Lead full-stack development efforts and collaborate across frontend (Angular) and backend systems. Manage end-to-end deployment pipelines and ensure system reliability, security, and performance. Conduct code reviews, establish best practices, and mentor junior team members. Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. Identify and implement performance optimizations and architectural improvements. Required Qualifications: 7+ years of professional software development experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot framework. Strong expertise in microservices architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems. Proficiency in designing and building REST APIs and event-driven architectures. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of database design, SQL, and both relational and NoSQL databases. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical challenges. Strong verbal and written communication skills and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Generative AI technologies including LLMs, RAG, and Knowledge Graphs. Hands-on experience with Angular or other modern frontend frameworks. Experience with message brokers and streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding principles. Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Contribution to open-source projects. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Technical Skills & Technologies: Languages: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
