An Engineer III executes the fundamental building blocks of energy auditing, report writing, and client communication without oversight and performs reviews of work done by Engineer I and Engineer II staff members. An Engineer III can lead client communication on large and complex engagements without oversight.

Tasks include:

Utility Analysis

Collecting equipment data on site audits

Producing indoor air quality testing and ventilation rate procedure calculations in accordance with ASHRAE 62.1

Basic savings calculations such as LED lighting upgrades, motor replacements, installation of VFDs, etc.

Intermediate calculations that include central energy plants, renewables, and coordinating with energy modelers on more complex measures.

Advanced calculations on all energy types and systems, with some oversight from more senior engineers.

Performing energy auditing and retro-commissioning in accordance with LL87 in NYC

Performing ASHRAE Level 1 and 2 without oversight

Performing ASHRAE Level 3 energy audits with oversight

Building and improving advanced spreadsheet models and calculators

Installing and using testing equipment and analyzing data collected

Producing written energy efficiency reports for review by more senior engineers or management.

Performing research into new technologies and remaining up to date on industry trends

Leads client meetings and provides project status updates on conference calls and through e-mail without oversight.

Program manages large engagements with clients covering multiple buildings and multiple scopes of work.

Performs basic financial analysis (Cash flows, ROI, etc.) with some oversight.
