The ideal candidate will bring a blend of public accounting foundation and 3+ years of industry experience, along with an interest in change management, process improvement, and long-term growth within a private equity-backed organization. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys partnering with operations, strengthening accounting processes, and helping support a business through continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with operational teams to review contract activity and apply appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries and complete reconciliations for key balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, including asset setup, depreciation, retirements, and supporting schedules
  • Manage lease accounting activities under ASC 842 and identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and supporting systems
  • Coordinate documentation and schedules for external audits, tax filings, regulatory reviews, and other compliance-related requests
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support preparation and review of financial statements, management reporting, budgets, and forecasts
  • Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow forecasting
  • Analyze monthly financial results against budget and forecast, and communicate key variances and trends to leadership
  • Participate in special projects and recommend process improvements that drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including strong experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
  • Public accounting background strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of industry experience required, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or a project-based environment
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Hands-on experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting
  • Construction accounting, audit, or public accounting experience is highly preferred
  • Experience preparing journal entries, month-end reporting packages, and financial analysis with a high level of accuracy
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Acumatica, or similar platforms preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
