Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting multiple schools near Allendale, MI as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This impactful role spans classrooms across two sites, serving a well-defined caseload of approximately 49 students from preschool through 8th grade. The majority of your support will focus on students with moderate cognitive impairments and those on the Autism spectrum, including participation in Regional Moderate Cognitive Impairment programs and resource rooms, as well as a select Early Childhood Special Education group.

Desired Background & Experience

  • Valid OT license (Michigan) with experience in school-based settings preferred
  • Knowledge of pediatric OT strategies for Autism and cognitive impairments
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and adapting interventions for diverse student needs
  • Comfortable providing services in both resource and self-contained classrooms
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Experience or willingness to learn documentation using EdPlan or similar systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, plan, and deliver individualized and group OT interventions for students
  • Collaborate daily with educators, specialists, and support teams to maximize outcomes
  • Travel between school sites and document all services efficiently
  • Support students in regional and resource room programs, tailoring therapy to functional needs
  • Maintain compliance with all school and Medicaid documentation requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and ongoing professional training
