HVAC Selling Technician - Earning Potential Up to $150,000 Annually

Position Summary

The Residential HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining residential heating and cooling systems while providing an outstanding customer experience. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

As a Selling Technician, you'll have the opportunity to recommend solutions that improve customer comfort while earning an exceptional income through performance-based opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems, including split systems, heat pumps, package units, gas furnaces, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential system concerns.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigeration issues.
  • Accurately document repairs, recommendations, parts used, and system conditions using company software.
  • Educate customers on system performance, repair options, indoor air quality solutions, and replacement opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at every customer location.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, EPA regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory in a clean and organized manner.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of residential HVAC service experience preferred.
  • HVAC Selling Technician experience preferred.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and daily schedules effectively.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Physical Requirements

To perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to:

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift heavier items with assistance.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach overhead, and climb ladders throughout the workday.
  • Work in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, basements, and mechanical closets.
  • Work at heights using ladders and elevated work platforms while following all safety procedures.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements using hand tools, power tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and changing temperatures.
  • Distinguish colors for identifying electrical wiring and system components.
  • Read gauges, wiring diagrams, blueprints, service manuals, and digital work orders.
  • Use smartphones, tablets, computers, and other mobile technology to document work, communicate with customers, and complete electronic paperwork.
  • Remain on feet for extended periods while performing physically demanding work throughout the day.
