Full Time Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
On-site position located at th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52404
Review engineering drawings, maps, deeds and easements to approve railroad crossings. Utilize Google Pro, ArcGIS, and Digitized Maps. Research on secretaries of state and county assessor's sites. Analyze historical deeds. Ensure accurate property intelligence for operations.
What You'll Do
Conduct railroad deed research, including easement identification, and historical land analysis.
Review and interpret right of way maps, valuation sections, and engineering plats.
Analyze parcel boundaries, encroachments, and property overlaps using GIS tools and county assessor data.
Evaluate property rights, restrictions, and encumbrances affecting rail operations, corridor expansions, or property sales.
Maintain databases of deeds, easements, leases, and statutory permit documentation.
Support legal and engineering teams with research for acquisitions, abandonments, quiet title actions, and regulatory submissions.
Prepare clear reports, maps, and summaries that translate complex property records.
Preferred Qualifications
Education in Geography, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Familiarity with ArcGIS and county land record systems.
Organizational and communication skills.
