The Greater Manchester Region employs around 2,500 individuals. This area encompasses Manchester Memorial Hospital, a community hospital with 249 beds, Rockville General, a 102-bed facility that is part of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a large multispecialty provider group, and visiting nurse services. Together, we serve a population of 300,000 across 19 towns.
POSITION SUMMARY:
In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care both directly and indirectly. You will coordinate care by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and their families. It is essential to communicate the patient's clinical status appropriately, responding swiftly and accurately to any changes in condition or treatment response. You will demonstrate an understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan, ensuring age-appropriate care for the patient population. Additionally, you will promote the nursing profession and professional practice through supportive interactions with colleagues. This position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Job-Specific Competencies1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and re-assessments tailored to the patient's condition and care needs, considering psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural factors.
2. Collaborate with the surgical team to develop, implement, and evaluate a personalized care plan for each surgical patient based on assessment data.
3. Adhere to the five rights of medication administration to minimize errors, demonstrating knowledge of medications and their appropriate use based on the patient's age and clinical condition, while following safety policies.
4. Provide all aspects of patient care in a manner that prioritizes safety and promotes positive outcomes, adhering to policies regarding patient identification and surgical procedures.
5. Document the nursing process and patient responses to care promptly using the designated tools.
6. Exhibit flexibility, organization, and the ability to function effectively under pressure, employing critical thinking and sound judgment in prioritization and delegation.
7. Practice autonomously in alignment with evidence-based standards, pursuing personal and professional development while serving as a role model and mentor.
8. Understand growth and development principles across the lifespan, providing age-appropriate care and interpreting patient data to meet specific needs.
9. Deliver accurate and relevant reports on the patient's condition to ensure safe transitions of care.
