Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist (MD/DO) for an ongoing locum opportunity at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The department requires continuous coverage starting April 6 through the end of the year, with a preference for providers available for at least two weeks per month.

This role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings.

Eligible Provider

MD / DO Interventional Radiology
Board Certified in Interventional Radiology
️ Experience performing a broad range of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures
Conduct CT-guided procedures including biopsies and aspiration drainage
Manage vascular and non-vascular interventional treatments
Evaluate imaging and guide minimally invasive procedures
Collaborate with hospital physicians, nurses, and clinical teams
Document procedures and patient care in the facility s EMR system

Practice Environment

Hospital-Based Interventional Radiology Department

Facility Resources:
3 Interventional Radiology rooms
1 CT procedure room

Support Staff Includes:
• Registered Nurses
• Radiology Technologists
• Nurse Practitioner
• Scheduling staff

Patient Volume:
• Approximately 18 patients per day

Schedule & Coverage

Day Shift: 8:00 AM Open Ended
On-Call: 5:00 PM 7:00 AM

Coverage Requirement:
• Ongoing coverage starting April 6
• Continuous need through the end of the year
Minimum availability preferred: 2 weeks per month

Procedures & Skills Required

CT-Guided Procedures
• Biopsies
• Aspiration and drainage procedures

Vascular & Interventional Radiology
• Diagnostic angiography (arterial and venous)
• Angioplasty (arterial and venous)
• Stenting (arterial and venous)
• Thrombolytic therapy
• Embolization therapy

Interventional Procedures
• Vascular access devices / PICC lines
• IVC filter placement
• TIPS procedures

Non-Vascular Interventions (Emergent)
• Percutaneous aspiration and drainage
• Percutaneous tube placement with dilation or stent
• Percutaneous needle biopsies (above diaphragm, below diaphragm, bone)

Additional Procedures
• Abscess drainage
• Thoracentesis
• Paracentesis
• Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram
• Biliary and renal extractions

Compensation

Daily Rate: $4,600 $5,500
On-Call Rate: $1,150 $1,350
Callback Rate: $850 $1,000
