Quality Technician II - Pultrusion
Location: Fife, WA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Compensation: $24.00/hour-$30.00/hour (Depending on Experience) + $2.00/hour Swing Shift Differential
Position Summary
Milgard Windows & Doors is seeking a Quality Technician II to support pultrusion manufacturing operations at our Fife, WA facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes and finished products meet established quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. The position plays a critical role in supporting production through inspection, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform in-process and final inspections of pultruded products, including dimensional checks, surface finish evaluation, and structural integrity assessments
Conduct visual inspections to verify product quality
Monitor pultrusion line operations to ensure adherence to quality standards and process parameters
Analyze inspection and test data to identify trends, nonconformances, and opportunities for improvement
Accurately document inspection results using quality systems, reports, and logs
Investigate quality issues, support root cause analysis, and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Maintain documentation and records to support internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, as applicable)
Collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership teams to resolve quality-related issues
Provide guidance and training support to Quality Technician I team members
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred
2-5 years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing, ideally within pultrusion or composite materials
Working knowledge of pultrusion processes, fiberglass/resin systems, and composite manufacturing methods
Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and testing equipment
Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 or comparable standards
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications

Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
Effective problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Clear communication and ability to collaborate across teams
Proficiency with basic computer applications and quality data systems
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and composite materials
Frequent standing and occasional lifting required
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
