Job Title: Quality Engineering

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration: 1 Year (Possible Extension)

Location: Thibodaux, LA 70301

Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday)
Must be open to 2nd Shift (3:30 PM - 3:00 AM) and overtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, component, and final product inspections.
• Verify products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect weld quality, fit, finish, dimensional accuracy, and workmanship.
• Identify nonconforming products and coordinate rework and corrective actions.
• Document inspection findings in SAP, JDAAT, JDQC, or other quality systems.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections.
• Collect and analyze quality data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct root cause investigations and support corrective/preventive actions.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, and Quality teams.
• Maintain quality records and support departmental quality objectives.
• Promote workplace safety and maintain a clean work environment.

Must-Have Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, NCRC, or 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Experience performing visual and dimensional inspections.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and quality inspection processes.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to use inspection tools and measuring equipment.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as required.
• Ability to perform physical manufacturing tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to use an overhead crane.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP, JDAAT, JDQC, or similar Quality Management Systems.
• Manufacturing Quality or Quality Engineering experience.
• Welding and fabrication inspection experience.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with quality documentation and reporting.
• Experience working in heavy equipment or manufacturing environments.
