QC Final Inspector

Synerfac Technical Staffing New Jersey, Denville Permanent

Job Description

QC Final Inspector / Electrical Technician Location: Denville, NJ Schedule: First Shift, Monday-Friday About the Company Our client is an established Denville, NJ contract manufacturer with nearly 30 years of experience building cable assemblies, custom molded cables, wire harnesses, and electromechanical subassemblies for military and commercial applications. A long-standing supplier to the U.S. defense supply chain - including the Defense Logistics Agency and the U.S. Navy - the company builds strictly to drawing and military specification, where quality, traceability, and on-time delivery are non-negotiable. It is a close-knit, hands-on manufacturing environment where the QC team has real ownership of what ships. Position Summary The QC Final Inspector / Electrical Technician is responsible for the electrical verification of the company's cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies before they ship. You will program and run automated cable testers, troubleshoot failures, and perform electrical, dimensional, and visual inspections to confirm that in-process and outgoing product meets customer, military, and internal specifications. Working as a key member of the QC Inspection department, you will have the authority - and the confidence - to accept or reject product. A government Secret clearance is a plus but not required. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate Cirris automated cable testers, including building test programs from schematics, wiring diagrams, and wire lists. Perform electrical testing of cable assemblies and wire harnesses - continuity, shorts, insulation resistance, and hi-pot / dielectric withstanding voltage. Troubleshoot electrical failures to root cause (miswires, opens, shorts, intermittents, termination defects) and work with production to correct them. Use electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and continuity and hi-pot testers, both manual and computer-controlled. Execute final dimensional and visual inspections to drawing requirements using calipers, micrometers, height gages, and related tools. Interpret engineering-level manufacturing procedures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings, including GD&T callouts. Apply customer, military, industry, and company workmanship standards and specifications to every inspection. Determine acceptance or rejection of product; document results, test data, and nonconformances accurately for full traceability. Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment to keep product moving without compromising quality. Support continuous improvement of test programs, inspection methods, and fixturing. Requirements 1. 3+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector and/or Electronic Technician working with cable assemblies, wire harnesses, or electromechanical assemblies. 2. Associate's degree (A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology) or an equivalent combination of technical school training and hands-on experience. 3. Proficiency with electrical test equipment - volt/ohm meters, oscilloscopes, continuity and hi-pot testers - and experience programming automated cable test equipment (Cirris strongly preferred). 4. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and mechanical drawings, and to apply customer, military, and industry specifications to accept/reject decisions.
