Our client, an established and highly respected specialty contractor in the geotechnical and geostructural construction industry, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage multiple construction projects from preparation and mobilization through execution, change management, and closeout.

This is an opportunity for a construction professional who can see both the details and the bigger picturesomeone who communicates exceptionally well, anticipates what is coming next, and can calmly manage competing priorities when clients, field personnel, vendors, schedules, budgets, and unexpected problems all need attention at the same time.

Technical construction knowledge matters, but this role requires much more than knowing how to read drawings or track a budget.

The strongest Project Managers know how to manage circumstances and people.

You'll interact with clients, Superintendents, field crews, vendors, subcontractors, truckers, engineers, and internal team memberssometimes all in the same day.

That requires someone who can listen before reacting, communicate clearly, adjust their approach to different personalities, and keep a cool head when something doesn't go according to plan.

You need to know which issue requires immediate attention, which can wait, and which potential problem can be addressed today so it never becomes tomorrow's emergency.

You'll take ownership of multiple projects in various stages of completion and manage them from initial preparation through final closeout.

Responsibilities will include:

  Manage multiple active construction projects simultaneously

  
  


• 
  

  Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the project

  
  


• 
  

  Develop strong working relationships with clients, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders

  
  


• 
  

  Read, interpret, and work from project drawings, specifications, contracts, and other technical documents

  
  


• 
  

  Review contracts and understand project scope, requirements, risks, and obligations

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate project planning, mobilization, materials, vendors, subcontractors, schedules, and field requirements

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with Superintendents and field personnel to ensure they have the information and resources necessary to perform successfully

  
  


• 
  

  Visit jobsites and attend project meetings as required

  
  


• 
  

  Track project costs and prepare cost reports

  
  


• 
  

  Manage projects with an eye toward meeting or exceeding budgets and schedules

  
  


• 
  

  Identify, prepare, negotiate, process, and track change orders and claims

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare professional project correspondence, letters, reports, invoices, and other technical documentation

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor deadlines, deliverables, and outstanding project requirements

  Proactively identify potential issues and develop solutions before they affect the project

  Manage urgent project issues and changing priorities without losing sight of other responsibilities

  Guide projects through completion, follow-up, documentation, and closeout

  Approximately 5+ years of construction project management experience, with greater experience welcomed

  Experience managing multiple construction projects concurrently

  
  


• 
  

  Strong client relationship and communication skills

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent written communication and technical writing abilities

  
  


• 
  

  Experience reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation

  Experience managing change orders, project costs, schedules, vendors, and subcontractors

  Strong proficiency with Word processing, PDFs, and standard project documentation tools

Experience in geotechnical, geostructural, heavy civil, foundation, concrete, drilling, earthwork, or specialty construction would be particularly valuable.

This position is based from the company's Douglas, Massachusetts office and is predominantly an in-person role.

Project Managers also spend time at active jobsites depending on their projects and personal management style. Some Project Managers may spend approximately 10% of their time in the field, while others may spend closer to 50%. It's up to the individual to decide how they work most efficiently.

The important thing isn't achieving a particular office-to-field ratio. It's being where you need to be to successfully manage your projects.

Salary: $125,000$150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
