Hybrid Travel to various sites as needed Description The Program Management Office (PMO) Lead is responsible for establishing, evolving, and leading the enterprise Program Management Office to ensure consistent delivery of strategic and business transformation initiatives across the organization. This enterprise-wide role provides strategic oversight for major company projects across VT's divisions and functions-including operations and manufacturing, commercial, finance, people, facilities, ERP, infrastructure, applications, and process improvement-ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, VT governance standards, and continuous improvement practices. The PMO Lead will develop and enforce project management methodologies, provide mentorship and leadership to project managers, and ensure transparency, prioritization, and accountability across the VT portfolio. The role partners with senior leaders across the business and IT, as well as external vendors, to drive successful program execution and deliver enterprise business value. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Establish and oversee the enterprise Project Portfolio Management process, including intake, prioritization, and capacity-constrained selection, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and available resources. Lead the planning, governance, execution, and delivery of large-scale, cross-functional programs across the business and technology-including process, operational, and systems implementations, upgrades, and integrations. Develop and implement standardized project management frameworks, templates, and reporting practices to ensure consistent delivery quality. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to Project Managers and other delivery leads. Chair enterprise governance, collaborating with the Steering Committee and business sponsors to prioritize projects, manage resources, make freeze/cancel recommendations, and communicate portfolio health. Oversee program risk management, issue resolution, and change control processes to ensure successful outcomes. Serve as a key liaison among business units, plant and functional leaders, IT leadership, and external partners to facilitate enterprise program alignment and stakeholder engagement. Deliver executive-level reporting on program and project status, including ROI, benefits realization, risk exposure, and resource utilization; oversee project closure and follow-up reporting to those who approved the work. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO, leveraging data and lessons learned to optimize project delivery and portfolio management. Support budgeting and forecasting for enterprise programs, ensuring cost-effective delivery and adherence to financial targets. Other duties as assigned. Professional Characteristics Strategic thinker with the ability to connect enterprise vision with actionable delivery plans. Expert in portfolio and program management practices, with strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies. Proven leader who can motivate and develop high-performing project management teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams. Skilled in conflict resolution, risk negotiation, and organizational change management. Demonstrated ability to manage complex priorities in a dynamic business environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or a related discipline preferred; Master's degree is a plus. 5+ years of progressive experience in project and program management, including 1+ years leading enterprise-scale, cross-functional programs. Demonstrated success managing ERP or other large-scale enterprise programs that span business and technology. Strong understanding of project portfolio management tools and techniques, including resource capacity, demand, and portfolio reporting. PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional), or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification strongly preferred. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) preferred. Proven experience working with executive stakeholders and facilitating governance processes. Physical Requirements Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional moderate lifting (50 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to climb up or down ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. Ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
