Inorganic Ventures does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. </p><p><br/></p><p>Work Location: This position currently supports a hybrid work arrangement once the training period is completed. </p><p><br/></p><p> <strong>Summary</strong></p><p>The Product Stewardship and Export Compliance Specialist serves as the company's internal </p><p>subject matter expert on chemical regulatory compliance and export control requirements. </p><p>This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and </p><p>international chemical regulations, as well as U.S. export control laws. The role oversees </p><p>hazard classification, regulatory reporting, and federal and state chemical compliance </p><p>activities, and provides expertise in export classification determinations.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Authority</strong></p><p>The Product Stewardship and Export Compliance Specialist has the authority to perform all </p><p>tasks and duties as assigned herein. Authority is also granted for the following: Create, edit, </p><p>review, and approve policy, procedures, and work instructions; raise compliance risks to </p><p>Top Management</p><p><br/></p><p>Authority to stop work: This authority permits any employee at any level to halt a job or </p><p>task when a hazardous situation appears imminent, or they feel unsafe. </p><p><br/></p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li> Serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external regulatory compliance </li></ul><p>matters (e.g., commercial and logistics processes, staff training, vendor interactions, </p><p>and customer complaints)</p><ul><li> Oversee the company's compliance with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) </li></ul><p>requirements regarding labels, SDSs, and other related paperwork that accompanies </p><p>our products.</p><ul><li> Work closely with the SDS Software Administrator to review, update, and maintain </li></ul><p>SDS templates and formats to ensure continued regulatory compliance and system </p><p>accuracy.</p><ul><li> Remain up to date on federal and state laws related to the organization and update </li></ul><p>policies accordingly.</p><ul><li> Conduct compliance audits to evaluate adherence to established policies and identify </li></ul><p>opportunities for improvement</p><p>Oversee the maintenance and retention of regulatory reports, registrations, permits, </p><p>and applications for same</p><ul><li> Develop and implement an export compliance program to ensure the organization </li></ul><p>operates in accordance with state and federal laws.</p><ul><li> Utilize the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) for export control and be able to </li></ul><p>assign appropriate ECCNs for export compliance.</p><ul><li> Prepare and submit U.S. export license applications and approvals as required; </li></ul><p>collaborate with Logistics to ensure appropriate export declarations, documentation, </p><p>and physical marking requirements are applied to all export shipments.</p><ul><li> Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty </p><p>satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, </p><p>and/or ability required.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Required -</strong></p><ul><li> Bachelor's Degree in the field of science, or a combination of experience and </li></ul><p>education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position</p><ul><li> Significant to expert knowledge of foreign export laws and regulations, particularly, </li></ul><p>U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Export Control Classification </p><p>Numbers (ECCN)</p><ul><li> Significant to expert knowledge of major federal regulations such as, IMERC, PFSA, </li></ul><p>TSCA, PHMSA, EPCRA, OSHA, etc. </p><ul><li> Ability to approach problem solving using innovative ideas and a broad perspective</li><li> Ability to collaborate effectively with other stakeholders with diverse viewpoints</li><li> Experience creating and training others on policies and procedures </li><li> Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals to include international </li></ul><p>and domestic customers</p><ul><li> Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills</li><li> PC proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite</li><li> Must have, or be willing to obtain, an Export Compliance Professional (ECoP )</li></ul><p><strong>Travel Requirement:</strong></p><ul><li> If remote, some travel to the company's site will be required</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred -</strong></p><ul><li> 5+ years of relevant experience in import/export compliance in the hazardous </li></ul><p>chemical industry. </p><ul><li> Holds current certification for 49-CFR and IATA dangerous goods transportation</li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Inorganic Ventures reserves the right to modify job duties at any time, and this job description is not designed to cover every responsibility required of the employee.
