Principal Backend Engineer (Golang)

About the role: • We're seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to set the technical vision for our backend platform and drive its architecture, service design, and delivery across multiple teams. • Our backend is built as Go-based microservices, and you'll be the technical authority on how those services are designed, built, operated, and evolved. • You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and architecture - shaping not just how services get built, but what gets prioritized and why. • You'll own the API and event contracts that the front end and other systems depend on, and hold end-to-end accountability for the platform's engineering foundations: service boundaries, data modeling, reliability, observability, performance, security, and testing strategy. • You'll also be a force multiplier for the engineering org - raising the technical bar through mentorship, architecture reviews, and by modeling how ambiguous, cross-team problems get solved.
