Platform Engineer ()

Design, build, and maintain core platform services, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and deployment automation. Define and improve CI/CD frameworks and GitOps practices to streamline build, test, and release processes. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions for hybrid cloud and on-prem environments. Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual operations, enhance service reliability, and increase engineering velocity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define best practices for software delivery, release governance, and operational readiness. Partner with application, SRE, and infrastructure teams to ensure systems are observable, scalable, and cost-efficient. Implement and evolve metrics and monitoring strategies to track system health and deployment outcomes. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with peers on architectural design reviews. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem review for platform-related issues. Stay current with emerging DevOps, SRE, and observability technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering. Experience must include:

Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

- CI/CD design, implementation, and maintenance using modern source control and pipeline tools

- At least one programming language: Python, Java, NodeJS, or C++

- SRE and DevOps principles, including automation, resiliency, and continuous improvement

- Containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Nomad

- Monitoring and observability platforms including Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus, or Datadog

- Implementing infrastructure-as-code, including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

- Supporting both Linux and Windows environments in an enterprise setting

Will accept a Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a directly related field plus five plus two (2) years of experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering in lieu of a Bachelors degree plus five (5) years of experience.

Telecommuting/Remote Work is Permitted

Position is fixed location based in Jersey City office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.
