A large academic medical center in Greenville, North Carolina, is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Forensic Pathologist. Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and be board certified or eligible in Forensic Pathology. Candidates should possess knowledge of current principles, practices, techniques, and advances in forensic pathology and medicolegal death investigation. The health system is expanding forensic services throughout its 32-county eastern North Carolina service area through the development of a new $35 million, 25,000-square-foot regional forensic pathology center. Groundbreaking is anticipated in 2026, with the facility expected to open in 2027. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides a broad range of anatomic and clinical pathology services for hospital and outpatient populations. The department supports an AP/CP residency program and a forensic pathology fellowship, offering opportunities to participate in medical education, research, and the continued development of regional pathology services.
