- Job Title: Physician Medical Oncology
- Job Type: Locum Tenens
- Location: Richmond, Indiana
- Service Setting: Inpatient
- Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
- Coverage Period: December 1, 2026 Ongoing
- Clinical Shift Schedule: Tuesday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch); Mondays off
- On-Call Schedule: Night Call on some days - schedule TBD; Weekend Call Schedule - Fri 5pm - Mon 7am on rotation
- Call Type: Telephone Call (Provider comes to the hospital only if requested by the APP)
- Call Response Time: Telephone availability required
- Coverage begins December 1, 2026
- Winchester clinic coverage every Wednesday
- Hagerstown clinic coverage every other Thursday (1st and 3rd Thursdays each month)
- Provider will travel between multiple practice locations
- Telemedicine is not available
- Patient Demographics: Adults
- Patient volume: Clinic - 18-20 patients per day
- Phone Consults: Yes (Call coverage)
- Rounding: Included
- Phone Consults: Yes (Call coverage)
- Case Mix: 35% Hem, 65 Onco
- No. of Beds: 220+
- Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
- EMR System: Epic
- Specialty Backup Available: Full multispecialty support including Cardiology, General Surgery, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Rehabilitation, Hospice, Pediatrics, and additional medical specialties
- Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Nursing Staff, and Ancillary Support
- Reason for Coverage: Staff Leaving
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Temporary/Emergency Privileges Available: No
- Credentialing Timeline: 6090 days
- Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Included
- Medical Oncology patient management
- Order entry within the Vemsta platform
- Case logs required for credentialing
- Licenses: Active Indiana Medical License or IMLC
- Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible (Board certification required within 5 years of residency)
- DEA: Active DEA (if applicable)
- Certifications: BLS Required, ACLS Required only if requesting conscious sedation privileges
- Oncology experience
- Case logs required
- Flu vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption)
- Must enter work hours in the Vemsta platform
- Must complete order entry as the locum provider
- Provide inpatient oncology care
- Evaluate and manage oncology patients during scheduled clinical hours
- Participate in night and weekend telephone call rotation
- Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and provide physician support as needed
- Travel to outreach clinic locations in Winchester and Hagerstown for scheduled coverage
- Provider must be able to provide 4 weeks coverage in a month
