JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locums Tenens Location: Brattleboro, Vermont Service Setting: Clinic/Call Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Aug 15, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: 8a-8p or 8p-8a Call Ratio: Varies Reason for Coverage: Staffing shortage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult women: 60% GYN, 40% OB (50% low-risk, 50% high-risk pregnancies) Average Daily Volume: 14-16 scheduled patients per day in clinic Admissions: 1 nursery admission per day Case Mix: Obstetrics (low & high risk), Gynecology, Surgical Gynecology FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 7 Trauma Level: Non-Trauma Center EMR System: Cerner Community Works Office Equipment Available: Ultrasound (clinic and hospital), Colposcope, LEEP, D&C, standard GYN equipment Specialty Backup Available: Yes, other OB/GYN physicians and CNMs Support Staff Available: RNs: Variable; MAs: 1 per clinician; PA/NPs: 4 CNMs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Obstetrics: Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.) FHR Interpretation NST/CST/FSE OB ultrasounds Performance of Interpretation OB ultrasounds Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability) Labor and Delivery: Routine Delivery Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section Complicated Delivery C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc. VBACs Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations Gynecology: Office/Minor Gynecology IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP, etc. Surgical Gynecology Open Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only Tubal Ligation, LOA's, Chromal Tubation Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOA's JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified in OB/GYN Licenses: Active Vermont license or Universal License (IMLC); willingness to obtain accepted Certifications: BLS, NRP Experience: Completion of accredited OB/GYN residency (U.S. or Canada) Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history preferred; NPDB Self-Query Report required at presentation; EMR proficiency (Cerner) a plus Duties & Responsibilities Provide full-spectrum obstetric and gynecologic care to women in clinic and hospital settings. Perform routine and complicated deliveries, including C-sections, VBACs, and vaginal deliveries. Perform gynecologic surgeries including open, laparoscopic, and operative procedures. Collaborate with Certified Nurse Midwives and support staff in a team-based care model. Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and participate in quality care initiatives.
