Level 3 Trauma CenterStroke and STEMI center70k visits12 shifts a day, shifts are 12 hours, 7-7Shifts are 6a-2p x2, 8a-4p, 8a-5p,11a-7p, 12P-8P, 2p-10p x2, 3p-11P, 5p-1a, and 10p-6a x2There are always two board certified ED physicians on 24/7Current group includes 18 board certified ED physician and 5 mid levelsSignificant overlap of shifts Average 1.5-1.8 patients an hourNo shortage of procedures (expected to be able to do all ER procedures)Anesthesia, Pedi Hospitalist, Hospitalist in house 24/7Trauma surgery on call 24/7, expected to be at bedside in 30 minutes for critical traumaOther on call specialties Orthopedics, neurosurgery, neurology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, General Surgery, Vascular SurgeryIntensivist in house 7a-7p, Hospitalist cover ICU from 7p-7a but Intensivist in on callED does not respond to hospital airways or codesAlso have a FAST track option that sees ESI 3-5
